Bumping this up, Noakes left the BBC just after this series was recorded and wanted to keep Shep as a redunndancy payment as he really liked the dog. Unfortunately, the BBC said the dog was their property and he couldn’t have him. Noakes got his own back on the BBC by getting an identical dog called Skip and using the dog in a nice little earner for dog food. Also Noakes revealed he was being paid less than the Blue Peter producer and wasn’t insured for his dangerous stunts.

I heard he was quite bitter about his treatment, & regretted staying on the show as long as he did as it was hard to get other work after he left.

Noakes osrt of faded into the background after Blue Pater and Go With Noakes, same as Lesley Judd, bar some work on schools programmes in the early eighties an playing the newsreader on Threads. Peter Purves, who was the frst of the golden trio to leave Blue Peter, was better known as the face of Crufts for over 30 years.

Lesley Judd was the Mole in The Adventure Game.

Peter Purvis had a mixed bag, as well as Crufts he presented Stopwatch & Kickstart, and many training videos like the one he spoofed in The Office. I still have a few computer training tapes I saved from the bin when my college was having a clearout, also appearing was a pre-fame Anneka Rice.
