The show is also regularly stolen by the far more interesting side character of Banacek’s informer Felix Mulholland (Murray Matheson), a bitchy old English queen (though with an ever-changing female roster of companions) who runs a bookshop and has all sorts of geeky interests ranging from movies to model airplanes to space, and has a dazzling array of cravats and bowties.
