ULTIMATE forgotten big-in-its-day comedy sketch show, featuring the suitably where-are-they-now line-up of Tim Firth*, Tim de Jongh, Michael Rutger and William Vandyck. Ostensibly a Mary Whitehouse Experience for Radio 4 listeners, and expected to do likewise on television with the added advantage of not offending the sort of people who wrote letters to Ceefax. Except, erm, it never got past a pilot.
*Yes, we know he wrote some award-winning plays and that. Sometimes facts can get in the way of whimsy, you know…

Skivers spawned Dare to Believe which was also Tim de Jongh. Tim Firth wrote Calendar Girls, Mike Rutger is a hugely successful novelist (Michael Marshall Smith) and William Vandyck still has the same dutch name.
