We’re counting down to Christmas by way of a quest. A quest to find the best ever year for Christmas telly.
Each day we’ll battle three years from the TV Cream era (that’s the birth of Radio 1 to the death of Diana) and ask you to pick your favourite.
The winners will go through to a knock-out round that will, hopefully, result in a winner emerging in time for The Great Escape not being on the box on 25th December.
Which year will triumph? YULE BE THE JUDGE of that!
Here’s the first poll:

Heck, I suppose this will have to do as the year grinds on inexerably towards Christmas Day. I was hoping TV cream and your mates at YouTube would once again upload a nugget of tv archiveness from Christmases past, but alas, no. Not even ‘the ark’ are doing something this year.
Anyway, tick’s box for 1984 on the poll – turns another bar up on the living room fire…

Fear not! There will be some suitably seasonal features on the site between now and Christmas Day besides the poll.

I’m stuck between 1984 & 1995.
I don’t think there was a new Only Fools & Horses in 1984, but there might have been a repeat of on of their earlier ones.
I do remember being allowed to stay up late to see the UK TV premier of Raiders Of The Lost Ark that year.
I’ve still got a TV guide for the 1995 Xmas period tucked away somewhere.
