Citizen Smith

Tooting's popular frontTOOTING POPULAR FRONT. ROBERT LINDSAY. Wolfie. Foxy. Police inspector (or something) dad (PETER “GROUTY” VAUGHAN, initially). Bloke in woolly hat. Bloke in woolly ‘tache. Ups and dahns of a crap wannabe Che Guevara in soggy late 70s Britain. Any UK citizen in America for Christmas having to fight the urge to shout “Paaah to the people!” when they sing “O, Christmas Tree” understands.

In the same way that David Jason and John Thaw will always be Delboy and Jack “You’re Nicked!” Regan respectively no matter what else they turned their hand to, so Robert Lindsey will forever remain Wolfie to me…

He’s so synonymous as Wolfie to me that I can’t even spell his real name properly ha ha!
(btw, I refer to this as “The Delboy Syndrome”)…

The elephant in the room is just how much Robert Lindsay looks like Harry H.Corbett in that picture.

“Dad” was a uniformed security guard in some factory or other. The plot of one episode revolved around Dad getting workshy Wolfie a job at this factory where Wolfie promptly set up a union and incitednthe entire workforce (bar Dad) to walk out on strike.
