Films: F is for...

Footloose

No doubt the boys and girls from Parrs Wood will be debating the best song in this happily ludicrous “let the kids dance” film – Kenny’s top twangy theme? Bonnie’s epic screechathon? Let’s Hear it for the Boy, perhaps? Or that odd one by Shalamar? That bloke who’s nowadays chiefly famous for almost rhyming with “separation” stars, with her off of Fame, him off of 3rd Rock, her off of The Lost Boys, him off of Reservoir Dogs and her off of Sex and the City.

Another of those films that certain people at my middle and secondary schools used to pummel into oblivion on video – along with Grease, Dirty Dancing, Back to the Future, and the first four Police Academy films. Oh, and The Breakfast Club. Even if you only happen to own one tape, I still think watching the same film dozens of times is deeply odd behaviour.

In my early days to collecting videos I only had a few tapes & would keep watching them.

The same with taping films off the TV, often I would keep watching them for ages afterwards.
