The heats end here! It’s the final week in the prelim rounds of… [deep breath]

TV Cream’s Most Unforgettable Theme!

Yup, after this poll, it’s all going to go a little quiet as we take some time out from banging on about fucking voting all the time. But, please, don’t lose heart. We’ve got four smashing quiz show themes in contention: Call My Bluff, Treasure Hunt, University Challenge and Blockbusters. Whichever is deemed the best will go into our fab 15 of themes which – once we’ve worked out how we’re going to do this – will be battling it out for ultimate best theme honour!

This poll will close on 12th March 2015 at 1700.

Just to even out the obvious double, nay, probable octuple AT LEAST voting of Metroland Ian. He voted at least a billion times for Treasure Hunt, which nobody has ever heard of any way.

This poll is not valid without The Krypton Factor being on it.

The laser blasts, the Beethoven’s 5th bits… has to be the far-more-exciting-than-the-actual-programme Blockbusters theme. Though Call My Bluff does pop into my head unbidden quite often.

Blockbusters. You can’t hand-jive to any of the others (well maybe you can to Call My Bluff)

The Young Ones managed to hand jive to University Challenge alright.

I’ve always loved the theme to ‘Treasure Hunt’ (‘Peak Performance’ by Zack Laurence), so for me, it has to be that one.

If sport is home to more classic theme tunes than any other genre, then quiz shows probably come second.

Spare a thought for, among others, the Krypton Factor, Mastermind, Fifteen to One, Countdown, and even WWTBAM and the Weakest Link (despite them falling outside the Cream Era).

My vote’s gone to the ‘busters, BTW.
