ANNA SEWELL’S Victorio-horse catalogue had fuck all to do with these “adventures” featuring WILLIAM LUCAS. Every episode the same: posh girl/boy takes a tumble up on some godforsaken hillock; eponymous beast comes to rescue/gets hurt/goes missing; entire posh family sip tea/draw a bath/take a turn around the garden until things calm down again.

Best remembered for that lovely theme tune and moderate hit in 1972, Galloping Home, than the actual drama. Only one I can remember is a local criminal putting a sheet over his head and pretending to be a not very convincing ghost who burgles houses.

I can remember Channel 4 showing this & Follyfoot on weekend mornings, possibly even in adjacent slots.
