Well, there’s a bit in Lost In Music by Giles Smith where he points out that, when he became Labour leader, Blair said his favourite acts were Seal, REM and Annie Lennox, which was the most inoffensive selection you could choose – black and white, UK and US, rock and soul, everything.
Telstar is right. Although in that famous late-80s interview with Q magazine she claimed she’d recently heard ‘When A Man Loves A Woman’ by Michael Bolton and had found that mildly agreeable.
