Wonder Woman

ACTUALLY CALLED THE NEW ORIGINAL WONDER WOMAN. Guh? LYNDA CARTER did the flying/lasso schtick. Spun around to change costume, had Feminum belt to give strength, Feminum bracelets to deflect bullets, etc. Always seemed to be cloning Hitler in every other episode. Assisted by the IRA. No, not that one.

Wasn’t there an episode of this where the baddie was a big disembodied brain in a tank? Not a military tank, like a fish tank with green fluid, Brain of Morbius style. That disturbed me a bit for some reason, although presumably all Wonder Woman would have to do to conquer it would be to boot it over. Bit queasy, though.

The first series with Lynda Carter was set in WWII, but for some reason not picked up by any British station until the 1990s.

The disembodied brain would be hidden behind a velvet curtain which was drawn back to reveal the horror. This particularly traumatised me when I was a child as the opening comic book frames had caught my interest until the brain appeared. I was unable to watch any further episodes until my mid-teens when the wonder of the womans outward appearance caught my attention.
