For what it was, perfectly acceptable Saturday evening fare. I had the pleasure of seeing Harris’s adult-orientated ‘Duck Off!’ show a few years back, and it was marvellous. He also came across as a very likeable bloke in the Louis Theroux documentary.

Orville got a laugh out of me when he said he did impressions of Percy Edwards. Sobering to think the day is fast approaching when hardly anyone gets that joke, if anyone at all.

I first saw Keith Harris and Orville at a Black and White Minstrel Show in Scarborough, a couple of months before the Minstrels were banished from television, just as Keith Harris was becoming famous. I did hear there were two Keith Harris and Orville shows, the safe family variety most people were familiar with, and a blue version that performed at adult only comedy shows.
