Later a staple of TV-AM’s strike Period, & re-shown on Channel 4 a few times in the 1990s.

    2 lines?!?! 2 LINES?!?!

we’re talking about a show here which influenced a whole generation — taught them how to be cool, how to get/treat girls, and how to do the famous twin thumbs-up and TV bloody cream can only manage 2 lines of text with not a mention of Henry Winkler?!?! What is this?!

Later to return for Weezer’s Buddy Holly video lest we forget.Although fonzie’s dancing must surely have come as a shock to the alt-rock quartet.

The Weezer video has recently been on the BBC4 Top Of The Pops repeats.

I can remember Pop Up Video profiling it, mentioning they managed to track down some 1950s floor tiles, only for them to be melted by the glue when they were stuck down! Still they did a good job to reproduce the diner set & edit in all the actual clips from the show.

Remember watching the very first episode. Not only is it pre-Fonzie, but looks different from the rest of the series as most of the scenes are exterior shots on film rather in a tv studio making it look more like American Graffiti with a laughter track. Richie Cunningham has an older brother too who didn’t last long. Also recall how in the later seasons they gave up on any pretense of the show being set in the 50’s and had everyone bar Fonzie In 80’s fashions.
