Cribb

SHAMEFUL HOLMES-IAN tenth-rate pastiche, set in smog-filled “lawless” Victorian era, with titular sleuth putting his house and the metropolis in order. ALAN DOBIE starred as eponymous pipe-smoker, alongside DAVID WALLER (Inspector Jowett) and WILLIAM SIMONS (Constable Thackeray).

    not so
ALAN DOBIE is a wonderful actor and, made the part his own from what were out of print peter lovesey books has nothing to do with sherlock holmes as cribb thinks on his feet not in his head .
ex army before joining the force as for the ‘pipe’ his fuel was cocoa
    ‘cribb’ has out sold
the murdoch mysteries in the states a ‘cult’ tv series that has it’s own poster
2nd series has writers such as ALAN PLATER writing episodes for it ‘waxwork’ the pilot is wonderful to watch and, should get a proper release.
