Semprini Serenade

OUT!INHERITED weekly sub-Mantovani┬árun-through of ‘Old Ones, New Ones, Loved Ones, Neglected Ones’ by mono-monickered pianist Semprini (“OUT!!”). The stuff of much mockery both then and now but nonetheless┬ápulled out of the bag as a cornerstone of Radio 2’s fortieth anniversary celebrations.

Came on just after ‘Sing Something Simple’ with the Mike Samms Singers. Goes with tinned peaches and jelly.

Best listened to on a Pye radiogram no doubt as it smacked so much of that era.

Classic Beeb of that era dripping with nostalgia.
