Soul survivors

Of course, I was disappointed The Gallery didn’t win.
Ali, with his thin smile and gleeful clasping hands really won me over by the end of The Restaurant, but alas, in last night’s final Raymond went into ‘biz-ness’ with The Cheerful Soul. And, inevitably, here’s their blog!
I’ve nothing against Michele and Russell, other than the way they seem to feel their relationship and lifestyle represents something of a gold standard the rest of us should aspire to.
But if The Gallery opened next door to them, I’d be popping in there for petit fours and a disposable camera rather than a big hug and “old food made interesting”.
I’m glad the Gallery didn’t win, if only for the sake of Alasdair’s mental health. The sooner the poor lad learns to stop mooning over James and grow himself a pair (© G. Ramsay), the better.
I thought it would take a small miracle for the boys not to win. I assumed they were Raymond’s little pets.
The winner is a likeable chap though and those boys were numpties at the end of the day. If they had won I’m sure their rezzo would have come with a trap door to eject James.
To me that last episode had little to do with whether they could run a restaurant, it was more an extended episode of Masterchef Goes Large. Who cares if they are able to make a reasonable meal on a posh train, I want to know if they can get my nice starter out nice and quick.
I feared for her mental health. She had eerie mood swings that were uncomfortable to watch. Fair enough she got upset now and again but it was always succeeded by a mental grin.
