White Horses, The

IRON CURTAIN-PULLING impishness involving a 15-year-old girl called Julia whiling away the summer holiday on a horse farm and getting up to all kinds of, ahem, foal play. One of the creatures, named Boris, was usually responsible for triggering that week’s adventure. Theme song a hit for Jackie “Rupert The Bear” Lee. Theme song not a hit for the Kitchens Of Distinction. But then what was?

The European Follyfoot! Made in Yugoslavia (in fact, the part that’s now Slovenia), and the English-dubbed episodes got lost or wiped by the BBC. Sacrilege!

Now the series is available with English subtitles instead of the dubbing. I got the series from
a site called ferien in lipizza (Google it), it’s all available on Dvd, but only if you are a real fan, as the |Dvds are not cheap, i love them to bits ! nearly got the full set so far.

Hi Ive been trying to find this series for ever and cant find it. I have tried to find the website Jay referred to but cant locate that either. Can anybody assist with further info on this for me. I know from Network DVD that they do not hold the rights to the series, and arent planning to release on anothers behalf, and also that WDR Studios in Germany have the German language version but there seems to be no versions available from Germany.

I’m afraid the BBC wiped all but one of the episodes.

    Shame

I’ve heard some of the tapes of the English soundtrack have turned up.

A lot of these series’ soundtracks are missing.
    Even the 80s ones.
I know TVCream were trying to track down the tapes for Secret of Steel City. Missing.
    Same for Tim Tyler.

I guess the BBC binned their copies assuming that the dubbing studios kept copies of the sessions.
