For years I thought I had watched the film of Kon-Tiki (the other famous Heyerdahl seafaring expedition) when I was a very small boy but when I finally saw it, it was in black and white. It must have been this I saw, because the vivid blue of the sky and the yellow of the raft are seared into my memory.
