SHE’S BACK! Execrable sitcommage with HYLDA BAKER as three foot high teetotaller running shit-stained London hostelry The Brown Cow in a shameless redeployment of irritating music hall glass-shrieking Nellie Pledge from [cref 1487 NEAREST AND DEAREST], now as Nellie Pickersgill. A lone Northern ambassador in an alien world, Hylda relies on JACK DOUGLAS, WENDY RICHARD and other second division Carry On-ners to tread ginger path through a Fulham peopled by wrist-sagging homosexual fashion designers and Asian London Underground employees.

Two recurring ‘jokes’ featured in every episode:
1) Nellie answers the ‘phone “Hello, The Brown Cow” (slight pause) “No, I’m not The Brown Cow!”
2) Gay stereotype ‘Gilbert’ appears in pub wearing something outrageously camp like a rainbow coloured kaftan. “What are you today, Gilbert?” (Gilbert whispers into her ear) “Oh, you’re one of those are you?”
