Titular Nog charged with sailing to the Land of the Midnight Sun to rescue Nooka, Eskimo Princess of the Nooks, who he fancied. Fancied to be his queen, that is. Along for the journey was his guide: a massive green talking bird called Graculus. Supplying unwanted diversions and hence much needed plotlines were Prince Knut, an Ice Dragon, Nogbad the Bad, Olaf the Lofty and Thor Nogson. Not sure what he did. Ponderous and terribly terribly slow, more seminal for what came after, and which was hinted at in the storybooks which accompanied the TV version: “the moonmouse”.
