I seem to remember this was quite racy in ’71, showing the MacMillans in bed – together – naked (presumably). How my friends and I envied Rock Hudson! Of course, years later we found Susan St.James was wasted on him anyway.

In the USA this was screened as part of The NBC Mystery Movie slot, alternating on Sunday nights with Columbo, McCloud & for a short time Hec Ramsey. This was known as a Wheel Format due to the rotation of shows in the same timeslot.
This allowed a longer production schedule as a new episode was needed every 3-4 weeks, even taking the longer run time to account.
NBC tried a similar thing on Wednesdays, but none of the shows apart from Quincy M.E. caught on as much!
