POST-AUF WIEDERSEHEN, PET angling antics of a Friday night which failed miserably to come up to high standards set by predecessor. Lots of arguments about weekends spent fishing: “But your mother’s coming on Saturday” and boxes of maggots in the fridge, that kind of thing.

I remember this Birmingham-based comedy/drama with great affection. All abouth a local fishing club. The characters were all readily recognisable to anyone who had been a member of a fishing, or indeed, any other sort of club. I was the secretary of a Brummie fishing club and was often amazed that the situations cropping up in many episodes were striaght out of my angling life. Why is it not available on DVD? A lost classic!
