PEERLESS fifteen minute Wireless Wanderings with ‘versatile singer/songwriter from Sheffield, South Yorkshire’ John Shuttleworth and his Yamaha-accompanied singer-songwriting (“some beading I secured with non-returning screws, is I notice slightly proud, but there’s nothing I can do”), usually thwarted mid-performance by pressing DIY engagements or interjections from his bluff wife Mary and hapless manager and sole agent Ken Worthington, all of them performed in his garden shed by erstwhile Jilted John creator Graham Fellows. Odd experiments along the way have included the longer format pirate radio gambit Radio Shuttleworth and the Arthur C. Clarke-riffing John Shuttleworth’s Open Mind, but it’s those late-night rambles through suburban portastudio mundanity that still command a fervent following.
