Served-him-right dismissal resulted from on-air bigging up of Tories and urging Breakfast Time viewers to put their ‘X’ in Maggie’s box, catapulting him towards LBC and, lest we forget, Vintage Quiz.

In his commercial radio days, this man once went to the lavatory midway through his show, then forgot he was on air, got into his car and drove home.

From this late sixties photo with the Mercedes and polo necked jumper, Murray sort of reminded me of someone who wanted to be in a series like The Avengers. He was this older guy who really wanted to be cool and somehow could have pulled it off for a time. Also interesing he’s still alive now.
