DRUMMOND, Pete

That All Souls Church photo op - our man ringedONE OF the original subset of muso DJs, who lasted the course by being more than happy to do the thirty seconds of gravel-voiced muttering at the start and end of live concerts, which gave rise to his one moment of actual publicity-courting, about-as-good-as-you’re-imagining single Rockin’ At The BBC.

I can remember Pete Drummond’s only job in the eighties being the intro and the outro on In Concert. He was similar to Tom Browne, who should be on here, whose main gig was presenting the Top 20 but apart from the occasional interview, did nothing else on Radio 1 and left in 1978.
