Both panegyric and iconoclastic, Chris Diamobd and esteemed colleagues deliver a voluminous, thorough and humorous aural trip back and forth through time on the cobbles. ITV couldn’t deliver this, this way – the BBC and BBC radio wouldn’t.
The genius is to explore a great, stone, UK televisual colossus, often ignored by gourmet Cream-geeks because it was simply “always there”. What Corrie did was exemplify what was great, what was not so; what was daring and what was more traditional than a tea and scone in UK TV.
TV Cream deserve plaudits on a dais for their lavish and free Corrie podcast that evokes era and entity in Proustian joie de vivre.
