    1. David Collings was also Bob Cratchit in the Bert Finney Scrooge, in Doctor Who three times and the voice of Monkey.
    2. De Souza is still alive. He was Eileen’s dad in Corrie, which was sort of redundant, because they went all that thing to explain Todd was half-black, and then brought in the half-Indian De Souza. He was in Mr Turner and the Borgias on Sky too.He was the hero of Hammer’s Phantom of the Opera and Kiss of the Vampire and he’s Bond’s college pal the Sheik in the Spy who Loved Me.
    3. Hammond’s done some Midsomer Murders. Both he and JC Wilsher did Torchwood.
    4. Shirley Valentine was 1988. In between Avengers and Sapphire, she did the Plank with Eric Sykes, and then after she was miscast in YTV-US coproduction the Glory Boys with an equally miscast Scotland Yard man Anthony Perkins and Israeli super-scientist Rod Steiger trying to stop the IRA and PLO, and in miniseries Mistral’s Daughter.
    5. The tapes of those Motormouths are missing, apparently, wiped by Disney.
    6. My mum still has Badedas.
    7. Magnet and Steele. Frank Magnet and Tony Steele.
    8. Mysterious World was Yorkshire.

Access, as I recall, was basically Barclaycard but for the rest of the (then) Big Four, ie. Lloyds, NatWest and Midland/Clydesdale, and using the MasterCard network internationally as opposed to Visa. Latterly each of those respective cards changed to “[Bank Name] MasterCard”, I guess to emphasise their own brand name, so I imagine Access was a brand owned by those three banks together, and they collectively decided to wind it up…

PS re Nessles, a-Dee-dass etc, it’s not my imagination is it that we unsophisticated non-Francophones used to call Renault “Rennolt”? As opposed to “Renaux”? Or maybe that was just me as a kid…

I know several people who say ‘Pew-jot’ when discussing cars. I’m sure they know what they’re doing…

I’ve heard that a long with Day-see-a, who now want to be called Dacha.

We should say Lan-cha & Meeshlan, but don’t.
