Nice little western spoof with mild-mannered gent and small-arms dealer Kenneth More getting promoted to sheriff of the titular backwater by a series of accidents, arousing the interest of Jayne Mansfield and inventing the gun slide later copied by Robert De Niro in Taxi Driver in the process. (Except More’s version never quite works properly.) Jolly darn tootin’ good entertainment, and it’s fun spotting Robert Morley, a pissed Sid James in a stagecoach and, to a lesser extent, Steven Berkoff among the western veterans.
