Python at 50: Silly Talks and Holy Grails, Saturday, 22.00, BBC2

After a repeat of the show for the 40th, here’s the new documentary made for this anniversary, and it sounds like it should be a hugely entertaining affair, as it’s made entirely of archive footage. The even better news is not just that it means we won’t get Cleese banging on about Brexit and his divorce again, but also that, aside from a few favourites like their encounter with Malcolm Muggeridge, the vast majority of the clips are extremely rare and haven’t been seen for decades, with such gems as Michael Palin on Ask Aspel, so there should be plenty to enjoy. And then it’s the first episode again, and of course they’re all on Netflix now. But it’s the first time it’ll ever be on iPlayer, which is a novelty.
