Monty Python at 50: The Self-Abasement Tapes, Wednesday, 23.00, BBC Radio 4

Some fascinating stuff on the fiftieth anniversary doc, including Gilliam demonstrating how he works on Nationwide, Palin and Jones on Tomorrow’s World and, er, Cleese on the Central Line (well, we liked that bit). We were a bit distracted during the Parky clips by all the appalling outfits, mind, what with John’s anorak, Graham’s multi-coloured blouson and Eric’s cardigan, while Terry J offered up a disgusting bomber jacket on Newsnight. Great comedy, shit fashion sense. Happily we can’t see any of them in this show, which this week mostly seems to involve adverts.
