Wake Up London

ON SUNDAY Mornings, after TV-AM’s eggcups faded into the ether, viewers in the London area were treated to this five minute oddity. A sort of non-specific what’s-on guide to London with a vague narrative. Presented by The Vicious Boys (ANGELO ABELA and ANDY SMART, hot stuff for about half an hour in 1985) from various locations within the region, but towards the end always from the pavement outside LWT. Last series was presented by obscure double act Rabbitt and Doon, the latter being Doon “Smack The Pony” MacKichan.

Just to add, not sure what ITN Source are like about people getting copies of their programmes, or whether they have a contributor access thing like the BBC do – worth a try, though!

Hi i was just reading mark’s question and just wondered if you would be able to provde me with simular information. I was in an episode of Wake up London too in which we planted some trees in Dulwich woods. It would be so great to be able to see it again as there were close ups of me- also i am in contact with others that were on it as well.
    kind regards

I remember watching ‘Wake Up London’ when I lived in Reading and I recall the lads being sacked from the show and the girls being named their successors.
