Stop-Go

JUST-AFTER-LUNCHTIME SPROGS show, focusing on a different area of the really quite fascinating country we live in and the wonderful activities that are activated within. To wit, people digging holes in roads, washing windows on skyscrapers using those giant swinging platforms, that sort of thing. Presented by usual kindly female presenter with child sidekick who was there to learn. “What’s this called?” “A screwdriver…” “That’s it, a screwdriver.”

Didn’t Floella “Run, Fat Boy, Run” Benjamin sing the theme tune to this? Or did I dream that bit?

I can’t remember who sang the theme but I remember the lyrics went “Stop, go, wheels go fast, wheels go slow”

I remember the programme Stop Go with Lola Young (and in later Ben Thomas) as narrator. The programme hasn’t been repeatedin donkey’s years. I remember the theme tune well. Lola was Margaret Fenella Pearson like whereas Ben was Paul Pearson like.
