OK, WHO let this in? Ultra right-on com from Jeremy Isaacs-patrolled C4 (i.e. not funny) when minority meant what it said: two women on the dole, with a gay mate and a black DHSS officer.

I’m desperate to find a copy of this comedy gem because my limited memories of it involved it being genuinely funny. If you have a copy, please let me know and I will shower you with love and money.

Apologies to the person who wrote the summary; I hope I didn’t interrupt you from watching your old Love Thy Neighbour videos. Imagine having multi-racial people and gays in sitcoms! Political correctness gone mad. What mugs we are. Hell in a handcart etc etc

    cough…tosser…cough

It was shown opposite Auf Wiedersehen Pet, which meant ratings would have been tiny, and viewers would probably have preferred seeing a drunken Oz slagging off the Erics than two punkish women in a tower block, but no doubt a small audience would have appreciated Dream Stuffing’s radical comedy.
Mind you, watching the first series of Auf Pet now, this has dated very badly at times, with comments about no work in Britain, the studio based nature of most of the show making it cheap looking, and the Oz character being the belligerent football hooligan type he was in an earlier part of Jimmy Nail’s life. Yes it’s still amusing, just rather dated and cliched now.
