VERY FIRST comedy sketch show to appear on the new network, which made several running jokes out of its extremely low budget and deliberately used jokes of Christmas cracker standard to emphasise the point. A point that was missed by countless reviewers, who inevitably made “is this the best Channel 4 the big bore can offer?”-type comments. Former Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band member Roger Ruskin Spear was among those “creating” “mayhem”.

I’d quite like to see this again, as I have only the vaguest memories of it. My abiding memories of ‘early days’ Ch4 are the Paul Hogan Show and repeats of Man About the House and George and Mildred.
