Cockleshell Bay

DEATHLY DULL “adventures” of animated puppet twins Robin and Rosie in an idyllic (i.e. dead) seaside hamlet. Pointless exposition over opening titles – “Cockleshell Bay was a town near the sea, with seagulls and sunshine and sand” – added little to brew.

Mr Fingle would definitely be regarded as “dubious” these days.

Just like Harry in its predecessor Sally and Jake.

I went through a phase of just eating Cheese and Chutney sandwiches when I was younger…
Just couldn’t work out why though…

    Damn you Cosgrove Hall!

But thanks for a great series anyway!

I sometimes get this mixed up with Portland Bill, which was a few years later.

When you consider how anarchic and knockabout the likes of Jamie and the Magic Torch, Danger Mouse, Chorlton and the Wheelies, and Alias the Jester were (not to mention the original Captain Kremmen animated sequences), you really have to wonder how Cosgrove-Hall managed to produce something so bloody, bloody dull.
