This programme featured a character called ‘dogs ears dawson’ which I now know was played by actor Gordon Rollings but boy, everyone I spoke to about him had no recollection and doubted the characters excistence and ultimately my sanity! It took over twelve months to track him down!!

By the end of the show’s run, most of the original cast had left and the action had relocated to (I think) an abandoned railway halt. Gordon Rollings featured heavily at this stage, and any semblance of story had given way to broad slapstick. Definitely a case of going out with a whimper, not a bang.

Fell in love with this show during the opening credits, with Avril Angers up a long ladder, cleaning the windows. She waves her duster at someone in the distance and drops it all the way to the ground. Her expression was priceless!

I’m pretty sure there was also a bonkers robot too – not a slick, smooth talker like Metal Mickey, more of a short, lumpy buffoon who caused more trouble than he was worth.

I vaguely remember this and especially that it had a great and catchy theme tune

I remember Dogears Dawson, Marmaduke (“When I was in Patagoni”) and the not-to-be-forgotten TIPPY who was a sailor with a curious curved pointed hat. There was a great epsidode where they rolled down a hill. Tremendous. We were the school bus one morning when Neil Henderson asked “did anyone see Bright’s Boffins last night?” and was met with apathy.

If you showed it now, you’d think you were on mushroooms.

I just about remember Brights Boffins and remember Gordon Rollings saying “no bout adoubt it”.

When the characters got themselves into trouble they would all say, together,”All for one, one for all, every man for himself.”
    I found that hilarious.
