Who were those two guys driving the jeep that followed the helicopter around? Was one of them Kareem Abdul-Jabbar?

One of the guys in the jeep was Bubba “Hightower” Smith and the other guy was the wonderfully named Dick Butkis (not sure on exact spelling).
