Adventures of Don Quick, The

SCI-FI COMEDY outing, little remembered now, with IAN HENDRY as the quixotic space traveller, and RONALD LACEY as Sam Chopanza. Quite well done stuff for such an early effort. Also featured KATE “TRIANGLE” O’MARA and GRAHAM “SUN TRAP” CROWDEN.

The theme tune was a great synth piece called “Pegasus”, I think. Turned up on one of those Sound Spectrum/Gallery compilations that I never bloody got, gah. Didn’t Madeline “Snokes” Smith also play some sort of alien goddess? Typecasting, her?…

I was nine, and I still remember the theme tune! The only other thing I remember now’s a giant dog relieving itself on the ship at the end of one of the episodes as the blissfully ignorant crew discuss moving on because there’s nothing of note. Sad that it’s been wiped, it does sound one of the period’s more intriguing undertakings.

Over the years the Non-Gerry Anderson ITV science fiction show seemed to be quite a mixed big!
