Hello readers. This “photo” of Deirdre and me was taken back when I was half the man I am now (quite literally) and Deirdre’s voice was two octaves higher than it is today. Since then we’ve had our ups and downs and… ups and downs and – well I am sure I don’t need to belabour the point that married life for us hasn’t always been a straightforward affair, although affairs there have been. And in my case at least, I can vouch they were all of the “straight” kind (ie. man and woman), regardless of what Blanche might have once said.
Well the team at TV Cream have put together another audio “mag” of reports about Coronation Street, and the third instalment, which is also going to be the last before they take a well earned break for Christmas, is out now.
It’s called TV Cream’s 50 Great Things About Coronation Street “Podcast”, and there really is a lot of listenable stuff on there. Things about “Corrie” spin-offs and Baldwin’s cast-offs, no doubt. But seriously for a moment, it really is a fascinating listen.

Corrie was the backdrop to my life and I’d fallen out of love with it. Yet this is the finest series of podcasts I’ve ever heard, and has replaced Chris Morris’ Radio 1 Boxing Day Show of 1994 on my ‘top o’ the downloads’ list.
