The phrase may be catchily alliterative and describe the leftover bits of carpet going cheap at Allied this Bank Holiday weekend, but not only is it uselessly vague (what size room? what shape?) it hardly entices buyers. (‘Remnants’, eh? Sounds popular!) As such, the phrase was discontinued.

Some local carpet suppliers (you know the type, cold warehouse full of vertically stacked columns of carpets, calculations on the back of a fag packet and “I can knock 10{30e2395aaf6397fd02d2c79d91a1fe7cbb73158454674890018aee9c53a0cb96} off if you order today”, the owner drives a 20 year old Bentley) continued to use the phrase.
