1990 to 1991

Tim Firth keeps his fingers crossed for a Milky Milky (Take Me To The Fridge)-style spinoff singleULTIMATE forgotten big-in-its-day comedy sketch show, featuring the suitably where-are-they-now line-up of Tim Firth*, Tim de Jongh, Michael Rutger and William Vandyck. Ostensibly a Mary Whitehouse Experience for Radio 4 listeners, and expected to do likewise on television with the added advantage of not offending the sort of people who wrote letters to Ceefax. Except, erm, it never got past a pilot.

*Yes, we know he wrote some award-winning plays and that. Sometimes facts can get in the way of whimsy, you know…
