James Bond 50th Anniversary Gala Concert
Friday, 21.00, BBC4
An old Omnibus from 2000, including an interview with the great man, kicks off this slightly belated but none the worse for that tribute to the music of Bond. Honor Blackman’s in charge of the concert at the Royal Festival Hall where Carl Davis conducts some orchestral renditions, and we hope they have a stab at The Living Daylights. Then it’s clippage at half ten, hopefully finding some extraordinary renditions alongside the familiar.

My favourite’s “From Russia with Love” with Matt Munro – I hope they play it!
I’m sure I remember Griff Rhys Jones doing a very funny version of what he thought the Octopussy theme song should be in Alas S&J. I’d love to see that again.
