Last week’s Noel-fronted episode (which lasted 27 minutes, if you were counting) was probably a decent episode for a beginner to this run with a presenter you know, bands you’ve heard of doing songs you’ve heard and lots of crap dancing from the audience, but for those of us who’ve been following it from day one it was a bit predictable, apart from the atrocious quality of the T Connection video which abruptly ended after ninety seconds, possibly because the film fell apart. It’s 7/7/77 this week which used to be on YouTube in its entirety and features the best opening track so far in these repeats, and because it’s on first and therefore doesn’t get introduced, we love the idea of ten million people in 1977 all saying in unison “what the hell is this?”. And then the second the show’s finished listen to the recorded version on iTunes or Spotify because it’s even better.
