Reputations – Kenneth Williams
20.00, BBC4
A Kenneth theme night? Why not, even though there doesn’t seem to be any reason for it. With the Michael Sheen-starring drama at half nine and Parky at ten to eleven, you’ll have seen it all before, natch, and it might have been nicer to get some appropriate repeats, like when BBC Choice in its first few weeks showed that 1977 All Star Record Breakers (digital TV certainly seemed a brave new frontier in those days with programming like that), but all Ken is good Ken. “Selina Scott looked stunningly lovely and Frank Bough said thank you, you’re a Prince!”

Remember, of course, my fellow lefties when watching THAT Jimmy Reid incident recounted that Reid was a humourless bully who ultimately disappeared up his own Gucci socialist backside and turned his back on the workers of Glasgow to feather SNP nests while WIlliams remained an at times wrong-headed eccentric who still makes you piss yourself with laughter.
