A couple of rum affairs in recent weeks, first of all a show that wasn’t exactly Kid’s finest hour, not just for the cardigan but also his crap prediction about The Foster Brothers, though it was nice to see Floyd again – the other men clearly Flick’s way of pointing out what she had to do to get men in the routines now they’d dropped him – and then Jim’ll with Irresistible Dennis and, sadly, the last ever appearance of Paul Nicholas. Noel’s in charge this week for a show that was billed in 1977 as only being 25 minutes long, to make way for a repeat of Max Bygraves Says I Wanna Tell You A Story, though we assume that’s a 1977 25 minutes which, because of rounding down and far fewer trailers in those days, is more or less a modern day half hour. This kind of chat is a bit more interesting than the episode itself, though, which from the line-up looks to be really rather dull.
