After repeating every episode, the new series continues in earnest tonight, starting off with this special edition, where the likes of Alex James rightly get dead into it, and Konifer Huq makes a triumphant return twenty years on, hopefully doing a bit better than her last appearance where she and her mate lost both games, the second without answering a single question, and went home with thirty quid. We have higher hopes for her this time, given her recent appearance on Pointless, although her success on that show had a lot to do with Angellica Bell who turned out to be a right brainbox. Elsewhere on this channel we get what we HOPE are exciting editions of The Interceptor every night at five.
I used to like the Interceptor as a 13 year old, the format seems to be well ahead of it’s time. I never understood why they pulled it after 1 series, but looking back it probably cost a small fortune to make. It would probably work quite well today but no doubt ITV would insist on ‘celebrities’ taking part and have the charisma-less Ben Shepherd or someone like that hosting.
P.S. That new quiz on ITV on at 5pm (Tipping Point) is the worst quiz show I have ever seen. Bring back 15 to 1, all we want is questions to answer, not some oversized penny arcade machine thrown in for no bloody reason.
