Without a doubt the Creamiest ITV region ever was ATV. Twas Lew Grade’s plaything, Bob Monkhouse’s muse, Chris Tarrant’s teething ring, home to Hartley, Noelly’s nest… All that lovely stuff.
Well, we’re delighted that The Media Archive for Central England (MACE), the screen archive for the Midlands, has released From ATVLand in Colour, produced by ATVLand.Productions. It’s a two-disc documentary, detailing the glory years of ATV, and includes a super anecdote about Shaw Taylor sending a signed photo to a crim, bearing the legend: “Better luck next time!”
