There’s a whiff of hustings in the air, so let’s check up and see how Labour are doing:

He seems to be all right, as do the other 10,999. Pity John Smith fluffs his only gag, but at least it’s in the grand tradition of all political jokes, i.e. not really funny but still received with a huge roar of laughter. And where was the “mixture of opera and rock”?

    Awright, awright, I think this is what cost Kinnock the election as he made a fool of himself. Nice to see a glimpse of my former MP, Jack Cunningham, at 0.30.

    Can’t we have some clips of the 1987 election when Larry Adler played some mournful dirge on his harmonica with John Williams ( guitar rather than Superman variety) on acoustic guitar at Labour HQ as the results became worse for the party? Must admit it must have been awful supporting Labour in the 80s, and this duo must have made things worse for party workers. However, ten year later the tables were turned.
